Abstract

Depression is one of the most important mental disorders affecting work force and quality of life. In depression, signal transduction pathways are disturbed. It has been shown that the expression of proteins responsible for transmission in brain tissue is increased in rats with long-term antidepressants. Gender-related symptom differences in depression are the focus of attention in clinical studies.
