Öğe The effect of video-based fistula care education on hemodialysis patients' self-care behaviors: A randomized controlled study(Wiley, 2023) Şahan, Seda; Yıldız, Ayşegül; Özdemir, Cevriye; İsmailoğlu Günay, ElifObjective This study aimed to determine the effect of face-to-face and video-based education for fistula care on hemodialysis patients' self-care behaviors. Methods The study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study. Accordingly, 60 patients were included in the study for 95% strength. Fistula care training was given to the patients in the control group using face-to-face education technique. Fistula care training was given to the patients in the experimental group using a video-based technique. Results The analysis showed that the post-test second week (p?=?0.044) and fourth week (p?=?0.00) mean scores of the experimental group were higher compared to those of the control group. Conclusion These results showed that the video-based education given to hemodialysis patients was more memorable and instructive than the verbal education, and it was observed that the video-based education showed a higher level of success in developing self-care skills.Öğe Determination of Nursing Care Perceptions of Hemodialysis Patients(Prog Health Sci, 2023) Yıldız, Ayşegül; Şahan, Seda; Korkmaz, EminePurpose: In this study, it is aimed to determine the perceptions of the patients receiving hemodialysis treatment about the nursing care they receive and to investigate the factors affecting this perception. Materials and Methods: This research was planned as a descriptive study by using quantitative research methods. The sample of the study consisted of 50 patients who were diagnosed with chronic renal failure and received hemodialysis treatment in a hospital operating in the province of Kayseri. Results: It was determined that the mean age of the hemodialysis patients included in the study was 60.23±13.60 years and the gender of 54 % was male (n=27). The total mean score of hemodialysis patients from the "Patient's Perception of Nursing Care" scale is 68.31±7.38. Conclusions: As a result of our study, it was determined that the patients' perception of care and thus their care satisfaction were at a high level. Therefore, computer-aided segmentation of retinal blood vessels has become an active area of research in last decades. Due to the close contrast between the retinal blood vessels and the retinal background, robust methods should be developed to detect retinal blood vessels with high accuracy. In this work, artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm which provides effective solutions to engineering problems has been applied to the retinal vessel segmentation. Clustering based ABC (basic ABC), quick-ABC (Q-ABC) and modified ABC (MR-ABC) algorithms have been analyzed for accurate segmentation of retinal blood vessels and their performances were compared. The simulations have been realized on the normal and abnormal retinal images taken from the DRIVE database. Simulation results and statistical analyses represent that ABC based approaches are stable and able to reach to optimal clustering performance with higher convergence rates. As a result it can be concluded that ABC based approaches can successfully be used for accurate segmentation of retinal blood vessels.
