dc.description.abstract | Sporty aircrafts and some birds of prey can stay in the air for hours and go miles away, thanks to natural carriers without any energy and power systems. In this case, the effects of these conditions on the flight time and range of fixed wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been examined in this study, considering the use of thermal air currents generated by solar heating of the ground. For this purpose, by using natural carriers such as thermals and wave lifters, they are pre-studied to maximize flight time and range increase by making optimum use of them. In the study, first of all, the determination of natural carriers was performed. With the determination of natural carriers, it was planned how to use the obtained lifting force and how to increase the distance. As a result of the study, the factors affecting the duration and range of the UAVs in the air were determined by using natural carriers. | |
