A saint painted on rock, a plant in a two-thousand-year-old recipe, a ring woven of vine branches, a sprig of milkvetch hung above a door, water flowing from a fountain… Some of it a thousand years old, some of it from this year. All of it the trace of a hope for healing. What Anatolia knows is no secret. Unasked, it does not speak. But if it senses the intent of the one who asks, it gives freely of what it knows. If it goes unrecorded, one day it will be forgotten. We set out in the hope of healing.
