dc.description.abstract | This research was conducted to explain the tourism collaboration agreements signed with Germany and Russia, Türkiye’s leading target markets, through tourism diplomacy and to evaluate tourist flows. The research was designed with qualitative research methods and was carried out by document scanning method. Research data were analyzed using content analysis. Firstly, the recurring and prominent keywords in the texts of tourism cooperation agreements were coded thematically. Then, tourist flows were examined descriptively. In the research, it was seen that Türkiye’s tourism cooperation with Germany dates back further than that of Russia. At the same time, it has been determined that since 1980, tourists visiting Türkiye from Germany are significantly more than those visiting from Russia. There has been an increase in Türkiye’s tourism collaborations with Russia, especially after 2010. After this date, it has been observed that there has been a great increase in the number of tourists visiting Türkiye from Russia compared to those visiting from Germany. Thanks to tourism cooperation, in the last decade, Turkiye’s tourist target group has been tourists from Russia. This research develops the concept of tourism diplomacy, which has been discussed to a limited extent in the literature, and reveals its functioning between states. | |
